GRANITE
Granite is one of the most popular natural stone surfaces in the world, offering beauty and durability, making it almost perfect for any kitchen or bathroom vanity.
Granite is one of the most beautiful surfaces there is with it’s nearly endless variety of patterns, speckles, and swirls.
Granite is heat resistant, and its almost diamond-like strength protects it from scratches and stains from hot pots and pans. It also protects against mold and mildew, something wooden countertops cannot do. Granite can be cut to accommodate almost any kind of sink or kitchen appliance, making it a cost effective and versatile stone surface.
HEAT TOLERANCE
Granite is resistant to heat, but that doesn't mean you can put your hot pot directly on the worktop. A little crack can cost you a heavy replacement, so it is recommended to use trivets to hold your hot pots and pans.
CLEANING GRANITE
Use Handy Andy® and Windowlene® for daily cleaning and use a wax-based product or Mr Min® approximately twice a week. For stubborn stains use Chemico®
THE GRANITE COLLECTION
Antique WhiteAntique White Granite is the equivalent of whitewashed wood, but in granite, with some beige and charcoal tones in the mix. While the colour white actually has more than 20 shades, Antique White has more of an off-white base. There is a lot of movement in this natural stone, but the lightness of the accent colours creates a soft, whimsical mood as the patterns form misty, cloud-like shapes.
Autumn BrownThe beauty of natural stone is that it instantly creates an atmosphere, whatever the application. Autumn Brown granite delivers a riveting and moody performance with its medley of flame orange, moss-green and cream highlights. If Autumn Brown Granite were a piece of music, it would be a Beethoven symphony – full of passion and heart-aching beauty.
Baltic BrownThe patterning of Baltic Brown Granite makes this a memorable granite. Reminiscent of lava bubbles stopped in time, Baltic Brown granite exhibits bubbles of ochre with tinges of green on a black canvas. Something about the patterning on each slab also reminds one of a large cork board, which could make for an eye-catching feature wall in a living room or study area.
Blue PearlBlue Pearl Granite is a truly exotic granite, showcasing a high percentage of large, reflective, duckegg blue pieces, which give this natural stone a magical feeling. To get the best use out of Blue Pearl, ensure the material is exposed to some natural light in order to maximise on the reflective nature of the granite.
Colonial WhiteIf Colonial White was an ice cream flavour it would be Cookies & Cream. This vanilla and choc chip mix creates a modern granite with mostly even patterning. Colonial White would complement its opposite, dark tones in a kitchen, bathroom vanity, butler’s kitchen or even workstation context.
Emerald PearlEmerald Pearl’s blue-green tones create a rather sultry look and feel to this precious and exotic granite. Similar in its colouring and consistency to the glorious Green Peacock and Verde Ubatuba granites, Emerald Pearl has none of the coppery-golden veins and carries a deeper, green pigment.
Four SeasonsAlthough its called Four Seasons, this granite slab actually contains colours predominantly from the Autumn colour palette – reds, oranges, browns and blacks. Up close, this granite can make you believe you’re staring into a tiger’s eyes, but from a distance this striking granite almost looks like lava flows caught gliding down a volcano’s slopes.
Giallo NebbiaA classic granite, Giallo Nebbia expresses a uniform pattern of pale pink, burnt orange and cream grains that are evenly spread across each slab. ‘Giallo’ has many meanings and can refer to an Italian wine grape, the colour yellow or even a 20th centry genre of crime fiction and mystery in literature and film. ‘Nebbia’ is the Italian word for fog or mist. Directly translated Giallo Nebbia’s name means yellow mist.
Grigio MahoganyThe first cousin of Salmone and Perla Grigia, Grigio Mahogany Granite’s even-sized and well distributed granules create an almost hypnotic effect on the eye. The red-brown lowlights and light and dark rosé tones add depth to nature’s beautiful design, with the pink tints almost reminiscent of rose quartz.
Ivory CreamIvory Cream granite is a more intense version of Ivory Fantasty with a cream base and red, orange and black highlights within the graining. Streaks of subtle colour in the highlight tones create most of the movement across each slab. Ivory Cream can be used for bathroom vanities, kitchen countertops, laundry rooms and butler’s kitchens.
Ivory FantasyCream, tan, beige and black are the predominant hues of Ivory Fantasy granite – an easy-on-the-eyes, contemporary granite surface suitable for hotels, commercial spaces and residential installations. The movement in this granite is more refined and relaxed, with clusters of patterning almost creating a relief map effect.
Kashmir GoldKashmir Gold is a type of granite found in Madurai, Tamil Nadu state, India. Kashmir Gold granite showcases rivers of colour and movement running through the stone accented with distinct darker red/brown spots of colour. As the name suggests the colour can range from paler yellow tones through to a really deep rich gold.
Perla GrigiaThe word ‘grigia’ comes from ‘grisa nera’, which is a red Italian wine grape variety grown in northwest Italy. Perla Grigia is a conventional granite with consistently mottled graining of reddish brown, ivory, black and pale grey. This polished granite would work well as column or wall cladding or flooring – both indoors or outside.
SalmoneNamed for its pinkish clusters, Salmone is a granite that should have been named after a sushi dish. The black, white and dark pink grains in this type of granite look like delicious tuna maki! If, however, you are not a fan of sushi, Salmone granite is an attractive option if you are looking to create a soft, feminine feel to the space you are handling.
Silver ParadisoSilver Paradiso granite can often be confused with marble due to its swirling patterns and fine graining. However, on close inspection it becomes easier to discern the grainy patterning that is one of the defining differences between the two natural stones. This liquorice and cream surface carries a contemporary, masculine flavour with its bold, contrasting colour palette.
Silver SardoSilver Sardo is a traditional granite that is perfect for retail, commercial and residential spaces. The grey, cream and mushroom tones and speckled patterning are perfect for use creating texture in an interior space and will generally come across as an unobtrusive material, allowing other features to shine.
Silver StarIf Star Galaxy is a bit too bold for you, then Silver Star might be the right fit. This granite has fewer reflective pieces with a silvery-blue appearance, giving it a more subtle sparkle. The pitchblack background is the perfect backdrop for the glowing ‘stars’ dusted across the surface.
Star GalaxyThis granite is beautifully named and perfectly describes its patterning and character. With a stark black background, the multitude of bronze and gold grains make Star Galaxy look like a star gazing vista from Sutherland, but better! There is something magical about this material as the multitude of gold and bronze flakes constantly sparkle under most lighting conditions.
Zimbabwe AntiqueZimbabwe Antique granite is the honed or flamed finish version of Zimbabwe granite. The honing process lightens the appearance of the stone and gives it a more grainy appearance. With design trends embracing matte finishes, Zimbabwe Antique offers a trendy, yet classic, grey-black natural stone alternative to engineered surface materials.
ZimbabweZimbabwe granite is the closest you will get to a pure black, natural stone surface. Although engineered quartz surfaces can create this look to perfection, Zimbabwe granite is all-natural and a 100% African surface material. Zimbabwe comes polished, but if you’re looking for a honed finish, rather opt for Zimbabwe Antique.
